We have a broad appetite for risk, by size, geography and industry, within our Commercial Financial Lines division. Our focus is on insureds whose principal country of registration is in Europe. Our experienced underwriters have the authority to provide quick decisions while a flexible underwriting approach enables us to consider complex and unusual risks.
CNA Europe provides insurance as either a primary or excess carrier up to a limit of £10M / €15M or equivalent for the following products:
Directors’ and Officers’ Liability – A broad, dynamic wording for SME’s through to large multi-national corporations. For very large companies and those with a significant portion of their shares traded in the USA, our interest will be as an excess layer carrier.
Charity Liability –This includes the liability of the Trustees, Professional Negligence, Employment Practices Liability and the Fidelity risk.
Commercial Crime – We provide this cover on an each loss basis and consider the majority of organisations from a very broad range of industry sectors. Wherever possible, we meet prospective insureds to discuss their business and get the best possible understanding of their exposures and their own appetite for risk before discussing the appropriate programme structure with the broker.
Employment Practices Liability – As the incidence of employment related claims continues to rise in European markets, we provide coverage for partnerships and not-for-profit associations as well as private SMEs and large listed companies, including those with substantial staff numbers in the USA.
Pension Trustees’ Liability – We offer a range of solutions across CNA Europe with policies designed to address the particular exposures of corporate and individual trustees, and sponsoring/participating employers, as determined by each country or region’s regulatory system.
The Products are underwritten from our offices in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany (also for Switzerland), Italy, Sweden (also for Norway), The Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
They are available on a freedom of services basis in all other EU Member States.
