With a wealth of knowledge amassed underwriting these lines over many years in the USA, UK and Continental Europe, our Financial Lines team has a deep understanding of how our customers’ business activities, location and financial and legal structures influence the potential risks they face.
Our products are available via specialist underwriters in the UK, Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands and Sweden, each of which serves the insurance marketplace of neighbouring countries in their respective territories. Our knowledge of the legislative, regulatory and economic environment of their particular regions, combined with technical expertise, allows us to design intelligent, robust insurance solutions for companies, partnerships, funds, trusts and charities as well as their executives and managers. Our appetite covers a broad spectrum of risks in organisations ranging from not-for-profit associations and regulated professional practices to large financial institutions and publicly traded companies in Europe and further afield.
We keep a watchful eye on legislative and regulatory developments that could impact our insureds. We monitor litigation activity, loss data, claim trends, and how broader economic factors influence our insureds and their exposure to risk. This means that we can act early to design the right solution at the right time. For example, we can draft coverage updates to address a legislative change while that legislation is at the Bill stage, rather than waiting months after its enactment which can be too late for some insureds, particularly if the new law gives rise to retrospective liabilities.
This deep understanding of the risks faced by our insureds and the insurance solutions available means we can support our brokers by sharing knowledge and information, developing sales ideas for targeting prospective clients in a particular industry and hosting technical seminars on a particular product, industry or exposure to ensure that all parties to the deal – Insured, Broker and Underwriter – are fully aware of the exposures and the insurance solutions available. This also enables us to produce appropriate, unambiguous, sustainable coverage that gives our insureds protection and peace of mind.
We also recognise that some of our partner brokers may wish to use their own preferred wording for a particular client in order to maintain a continuous, consistent solution that is already familiar to them. Our ability to support such products where they chime with our own approach underlines our flexibility to build the insurance programme that best suits the customer.
