Cargo

Insuring international trade through knowledge and skill

CNA Europe has one of the most experienced cargo underwriting teams in the market and offers policy coverage which count among the broadest available.

We offer worldwide policies with cover wide enough to protect manufacturers, traders, importers, exporters and distributors against physical loss of or damage to different types of cargo whilst in transit throughout the world.

This is backed up by CNA’s global claims servicing partners, who ensure that our clients and their customers get the help they need, whenever and wherever they need it. We also have a specialist cargo Risk Control function advising clients on the best ways to prevent and mitigate loss situations.

CNA Europe’s standard cargo policy can include coverage which is not always automatically included in products available elsewhere including Buyers’ and Sellers’ Interest, Consequential Loss or Container Demurrage Charges after a loss.

In addition to international transport, cargo policies can also be used to insure domestic cargo movements, exhibitions, warehousing outside the ordinary course of transit and goods carried by sales representatives and engineers whilst travelling in the course of their business. Cargo policies cover goods being transported by any means whether by sea, rail, road or air.

Our standard cargo policy is a package of all of these insurances for different types of movement of goods. We also write cargo policies on a specialist, individual and tailor-made basis.

CNA Europe’s cargo policyholders and their brokers also have access to www.cnacargo.com , the marine market’s leading cargo policy management system for those clients who need to issue insurance certificates or who need to regularly declare their shipments.

Cargo policies can be extended to include consequential loss or advance loss of profits for construction projects throughout the world and CNA has specialists underwriting this class of business in its European branches and in Lloyd’s.

Our cargo policies are underwritten from our offices in Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy and the United Kingdom.

They are available on a freedom of services basis in Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and The Netherlands.
