Insurance of equipment involved in subsea work or geophysical exploration and research is relatively new and since we have been involved in this business from the outset, has become an area of specialty for CNA Europe.
Our clients in this sector, both owners and/or operators of subsea equipment, benefit from our policy which covers an agreed inventory of equipment whilst on land and whilst in or on the water throughout the whole period of the insurance whether top-side, subsea or in storage. This coverage can also be used to insure mobile plant and equipment whilst on site for similar land based operations.
Traditional cargo covers can be included in this package to cover goods which may be transported around the world from project to project or from site to site. The policy can also be extended to include exhibition risks.
Of course, we take into account the amount of time equipment is in use when determining our price.
