    CNA Hardy Whistleblowing Policy

    CNA Hardy is committed to preventing any misconduct, behaviour or action which may cause damage to our reputation. CNA Hardy does not tolerate any form of violation, and it encourages the reporting of any suspected, alleged or identified cases of wrongdoing which may include unethical, fraudulent or illegal behaviour.

    CNA Hardy has deployed a dedicated Whistleblowing system where internal and external Whistleblowers can file a report.

    Who is a Whistleblower?

    CNA Hardy employees, directors and anyone in contact with CNA Hardy in the context of its business activities, for example brokers or service providers who have a Whistleblowing concern.

    What can be reported?

    The Whistleblower can report all forms of improper conduct, for example:

    • Money Laundering;
    • Bribery and corruption;
    • Violation of sanctions regulations;
    • Insider trading and/or market manipulation;
    • Misuse of confidential customer and company data;
    • Financial wrongdoing such as fraud; or
    • Violation of any CNA Hardy policy.

    The list above is not exhaustive and other forms of misconduct or illegal activity can also be reported.

    The Whistleblowing reporting channel should not be used for complaints related to insurance policies or for dealing with bullying, harassment and other grievances unless they have wider implications for other employees or the public. These should be reported via the complaints process or internal grievance process as appropriate in the first instance.

    How can the Whistleblower file a report?

    CNA Hardy takes Whistleblowing very seriously and has established a dedicated reporting platform (cna.ethicspoint.com).

    Once the report has been filed, an internal investigation will be established and additional information may be sought from the Whistleblower (where possible) in order to complete the investigation. The findings of the investigation once complete will be communicated to the  Whistleblower which will include any action to be taken.

    Alternatively, the Whistleblower is also entitled to report to the relevant regulatory body in their local country.

    Whistleblower protection

    CNA Hardy is committed to avoiding any form of retaliation, victimisation, detriment or other unfavourable treatment as a result of making a Whistleblowing disclosure. CNA Hardy adopts a zero-tolerance approach to the victimisation of an individual who 'blows the whistle'.

    Data protection and confidentiality

    CNA Hardy will endeavour to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the information provided in the Disclosure, in particular the identity of the Whistleblower, the persons concerned by the Disclosure and any third parties mentioned in the Disclosure.

    If the Whistleblower wishes to remain anonymous, CNA Hardy will make every effort to respect this request. It is important to note that whilst the Whistleblower can make an anonymous Disclosure detailed investigations may be easier to progress if the Whistleblower can be contacted for further information to fully investigate the matter.

    If CNA Hardy is in a position where it cannot maintain confidentiality (e.g. for legal reasons), CNA Hardy will endeavour, where practical, to inform the Whistleblower first.
